Swanage Pier by NamelessFaithlessGod Swanage Pier by NamelessFaithlessGod
Finally got a chance to work with my recently acquired ND filter on a trip down to Swanage on the south coast in Dorset. This was not a full photographic visit though as this was a trip out with the family for mothers day so I only took this image so not to keep them waiting around and to enjoy the day. Not the best angle for this kind of work but I am very pleased with the effect as a test shot. I did have my camera around with my during the day though so there are some nice scenery and wildlife images too to come from the visit later.

Shot with Hoya ND400 stacked with a Hoya Circular Polarizer.

Looks very crisp. Not familiar with that particular model of camera and filter, but the effect is quite nice.

My camera is just a Canon EOS 60D. The Hoya ND400 and Circular Polarizer are the filters. The ND400 is basically an extremly dark filter that restricts the amount of light entering the camera allowing for long exposures during sunlight, I stacked it with the other filter just to get that little bit more exposure time. This allowed me to get the silky smooth water and sky.
