McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle flown by Major Mike Maeder from the 4th Fighter Wing over from seymour johnson AFB, North Carolina at the Imperial War Museum Duxford Airshow 2011.
It's water vapour created when the aircraft is pulling high G in this very wet weather. I got very soaked in the rain but it was worth it for this shot alone. I don't know what it is like where you are but in the UK aircraft are not permitted to break the sound barrier at airshows. I guess it would generate many complaints from local nieghbours when they find their windows broken. Besides I really would have to be a god to capture the aircraft travelling that fast, especially with hardly any light to play with.
