The great British summer does appear occasionally. Hopefully it will for next weekend which is Flying Legends.
The beauty of Flying Legends is that we still only know a few items that will be there, even with a week to go until the actual show. It will be a lovely surprise as it is every year. So far the items I know to be attending is the Horsemen with the two P-51s that have been shipped over from the States for the weekend, "Fragile but Agile" and "February". Also we have a trio of Hispano Buchons, Three Skyraiders, The P-38 and Corsair over from Austria. And a pair of extremely rare de Havilland DH.84 Dragon airliners in formation with Duxford based Dragon Rapide. Other than those items there are about 40 othe aircraft due to attend.
OoooH, Nice Mix! I lill look forward to the "Fork Tailed Devil" and, the "Whistling Death" the most! lets hope the sunshine hold out! I like the P-38L and F-4U4 the Best!
Well you're in luck then because the P-38 in and "L" model [link] and the Corsair is indeed an F4U-4. It will be great to have a P-38 back at Duxford. The last time one flew here in the UK was 1996. Sadly that was rather tragic as it crashed rather horrifically at Flying Legends killing the then chief pilot of the fighter collection Hoof Proudfoot. I am glad I wasn't in attendance during that show.
