Great piece of equipment! My grandfather was an F4U flier during the war; he had a high-school buddy who was an Army pilot and flew one of those Airacobras. They had a mutual admiration society about their aircraft.

I like the composition and the picture as a whole but I am particularly fond of the P-39.

if all goes well, next year I might be able to add a P-63 to my list. I'll be hitting some more shows outside Washington (namely Idaho and Northern California). One of them is in Rexburg Idaho, which owns an airworthy P-63

still looking to add a P-39 to my "in flight capture" collection though

Although I have seen a Kingcobra in the air sadly I never got to shoot it. TFCs P-63 was involved in a fatal accident at Biggin Hill in 1999 long before I picked up a camera. Sadly I can't ever see a P-63 or another P-39 coming to these shores again.

I believe I have seen one P-39 fly, but same story here, long before I picked up a camera. same problem with the P-63. so many things at airshows that I dont quite remember. although I've been going through some of the old negatives that were never developed. lets just say there might be another set of those old scanned photos at some point

Good looking plane. Though the white leading edges makes it look somewhat smaller.
